Najeeba Syed is a board certified acupuncturist and NCCAOM diplomate of Oriental Medicine. She earned her Doctorate of Acupuncture and Chinese Medicine at the Pacific College of Oriental Medicine in Chicago, IL and San Diego, CA. Additionally, she holds a B.A. in anthropology and psychology from Northwestern University in Evanston, IL.

Growing up with a family of physicians, she always felt a calling towards a career in healthcare. She discovered East Asian medicine after navigating treatment for her own chronic pain issues, and finds that a holistic model of medicine that promotes active self-care is imperative for improving quality of life. Najeeba strongly believes in a collaborative approach to optimize health benefits for her patients. She utilizes Kiiko Matsumoto Japanese acupuncture in addition to orthopedic approaches, and recognizes that the future of Asian Medicine relies on the ability of the practitioner to meld traditional philosophies and techniques with the advancements of modern medicine. She has provided care to patients in community settings, including a chronic pain and trauma program at Heartland Health Center and the outreach clinic at Project Vida Health Center in Chicago.

When she is not conducting ongoing research on the vast amount of literature pertaining to Asian Medicine, Najeeba is also a professional violinist and loves performing and teaching. She enjoys traveling and exploring other cultures through music and food.
